Major Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen rockets attacked energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were injured.

The strikes follow evenings of air raids in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and officials were anticipating further attacks.
